Privacy Policy

Meeple Guru is operated within the European Union. For questions about data processing, contact admin[at]meeple.guru.

Meeple Guru collects minimal data, limited to what is necessary to operate the service:

• IP addresses— processed in memory for rate limiting. Not stored in any database or log files long-term.
• Questions and answers — logged for service quality improvement. These logs do not contain names, email addresses, or other personally identifiable information.
• Theme preference — stored in your browser’s localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
• Aggregated page analytics — Cloudflare Web Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data (page views, referrers, browser type, country). No cookies are used and no individual users are tracked.

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or any other personal data unless you contact us directly.

Under GDPR Article 6, we process data on the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — rate limiting to prevent abuse and protect service availability.
• Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) — logging questions and answers to improve answer quality and detect issues.

We do not rely on consent-based processing. No account creation or sign-up is required to use Meeple Guru.

When you ask a question, your question text is sent to LLM providers for answer generation:

• OpenAI(San Francisco, USA) — for text generation and embedding
• Google(Mountain View, USA) — for text embedding

These providers process the question text only. No IP addresses, names, or other personal data are sent to them. Both providers maintain EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for international data transfers.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (page views, referrers, browser type, country). This service does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personally identifiable information. Cloudflare processes this data on its edge network; no raw data is shared with other third parties.

• IP addresses— held in memory during your session for rate limiting. Not persisted to disk.
• Query logs— retained indefinitely for quality improvement. These contain question text and generated answers only, with no personally identifiable information.
• Theme preference — stored in your browser until you clear it. We have no access to this data.

Meeple Guru is hosted within the European Union. Question text is sent to LLM providers based in the United States for answer generation. These transfers are protected by EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) maintained by the respective providers.

Meeple Guru does not use cookies of any kind — no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies.

We use browser localStorage solely to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode). This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

As a data subject under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

• Access— request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Rectification— correct inaccurate data
• Erasure— request deletion of your data
• Restriction— limit how we process your data
• Portability— receive your data in a portable format
• Objection— object to processing based on legitimate interest

To exercise any of these rights, contact admin[at]meeple.guru. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your EU member state if you believe your data protection rights have been violated.

Meeple Guru is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Meeple Guru after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
